Louise Madzia

Louise Madzia is an independent designer and producer specializing in ceramics. She lives and works in Buckinghamshire, UK. Her work is based on drawing and combines simple ceramic vessels with her playful illustrations.

Before graduating from Kingston University in 2012, where she studied illustration and animation, Louise attended fun ceramic evening classes and began combining her drawings with the handmade ceramics she made in class.

After making pots and plates for friends and documenting her progress on Instagram, she began to build a base of customers and distributors. She started her business in 2015.

Her main collection is made in the potteries of Stoke-on-Trent in the UK, an area known for its heritage of craftsmanship. Louise designs the moulds and illustrations for this collection, which are then developed and produced by a moldmaker, printer and ceramics factory in Stoke. Each piece is cast by hand and provided with a silkscreen sticker.
